PacPrint 09 promises to be the largest ever

With more than six months still left to run until the doors of PacPrint 2009 open at The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on 26 May 2009, the show is on the way to a total sell out with organisers predicting it will be Australasia’s largest ever graphic arts show ever.

According to Alastair Hadley, PacPrint 09 Chairman, the response from exhibitors has been better than anticipated, with more than 90% of available space already allocated to nearly 160 exhibitors.

“The response from exhibitors has been overwhelmingly positive, with more than 150 exhibitors already locked in, many more finalising their requirements with us, and still others who have let us know that they are still actively considering their involvement,” Hadley reports.

“As PacPrint 09 already has more than 15% more available space than was allocated for its predecessor, this in fact means that – seven months out – PacPrint 09 is already as large as any previous PacPrint, putting us well on track to presenting the largest PacPrint exhibition ever held.”

Predictably, the industry’s larger players were among the first to finalise their involvement, however organisers are now experiencing a rush of smaller companies and new industry participants anxious to explore the benefits of being involved.

“Based on previous years, we expect more than a hundred additional exhibitors to join us between now and next May, bringing total exhibitor numbers to over 300,” Hadley says. “In light of the strong response so far, the PacPrint Board has also retained an option to take additional space at the riverside exhibition centre, should that become necessary,” he adds.

A look at the exhibitor list, which can be found on the exhibition’s website, www.pacprint.com.au shows that the scope of the exhibition is also likely to be more diverse than in previous years, with many of the newer technologies and initiatives represented.

“Already, the exhibitor list covers everything from offset and digital presses, accessories and consumables like paper, ink and chemistry, to prepress and CtP systems, MIS and software products, copiers and ink-jet technology, finishing, mailing and paper handling systems, and complementary services such as industry associations, financial and business services, and even environmental advisers,” says Hadley.

“Regardless of the size of the company involved, or the type of business they are involved in, the attitude of all exhibitors is remarkably similar, with virtually every one expressing their view that PacPrint is a ‘must do’ for anyone involved in the industry in this region.

“PacPrint is a ‘once in four years’ chance to improve your printelligence by viewing the latest technology and developments and taking up opportunities for education like the PacPrint Forum series; to indulge in some printeraction with suppliers and colleagues both at the exhibition and at associated events, and to experience the printensity of a strong, vibrant industry represented in the largest and most comprehensive exhibition ever staged in Australia,” Hadley says.
